FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana, was
recently ranked No. 13 in the world for ticket sales, among similar-sized
venues, on the Venues Today “Top
Stop” rankings for the June-July 2012 reporting period.
The ranking, released in
the August 2012 issue of Venues Today,
was based on concert and event grosses from June 16 through July 15, as
reported to the industry leading publication.
The World Wrestling
Entertainment (WWE) RAW Supershow on June 25 was a major asset in reaching this
ranking, bringing in over 8,000 people in just one night. The event pulled in a
No. 11 spot on the Venues Today “Hot
Tickets” ranking for the same reporting period.
In addition to these
rankings, the Memorial Coliseum has been named a “Prime Site” by Facilities Magazine for the twelfth
consecutive year.
Facilities Magazine, one of the top publications in the industry, salutes the finest
venues in North America with its annual Prime Site Award. Members of the
selection committee are industry executives who are directly involved in site
selection, including promoters, booking agents and event planners.
